Cleantech Open helps provide entrepreneurs with the resources needed to launch successful Cleantech companies. The event provided a number of key activities including extensive mentoring, training, business clinics, and access to investors and capital.

These charge stations, located on the Clark University campus, would become 2 of an eventual 10 that could be found around the city of Worcester. SMART GRID VENTURE SHOWCASE

In partnership with the Consulate General of Canada, Boston, and the UK based company SETsquared, IES hosted a 2011 Smart Grid Venture Showcase. The showcase allowed for 12 companies to make presentations to over 100 guests representing the venture and business development communities. The presentations were outstanding and the event has helped IES to make connections with international stakeholders in the smart grid space.

WEATHERIZATION ROUND TABLE

On September 13th, 2010 IES partnered with the Worcester Community Action Council and the City of Worcester to host the Weatherization Round Table. The event helped to connect energy efficiency businesses, suppliers, government officials and contractors with the goal of supporting the expansion of the energy efficiency economy and market in the region. Guest speakers included Congressman Jim McGovern and Lt. Governor Tim Murray, both of whom are strong proponents of expanded weatherization.

On March, 29th 2010 WPi hosted a conference meant to be a building event for the clean technology sector in Central Massachusetts. The conference provided an overview of IES as well as a sense of our role as a business resource. Participants were offered both federal and state perspectives on climate and energy policies and a roundtable panel discussed how businesses are adjusting to take advantage of the new energy economy. Both Lt. Governor Murray and Congressman McGovern spoke at this event.
